Best Point and Shoot Camera | Bergen County Photographer
Another question I get a lot, and this is a loaded question.
First things first, you have to figure out your budget and what you are trying to get from the camera. This seems obvious, but there are many different Point and Shoot cameras at different price points, and you may need to compromise on features to keep within your budget.
Having said that, if you are looking for something affordable, the Canon ELPH 190 IS is a good choice, but there aren’t many advantages over smartphones. This camera is small and compact and fits in a pocket. It has 10x Optical Zoom, and Optical Image Stabilizer, built in Wi-Fi and NFC so you can easily transfer your images and videos.
Another good option is the Canon Powershot G1X Mark III. For about $1000 you get the same sensor as a Canon Rebel, a pretty decent standard zoom and a fast aperture. It also has Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth for easy saving images and videos.
Both cameras are very good options, if you are ok with a smaller sensor or have a tight budget, go for the Canon ELPH, on the other hand the PowerShot G1X is a great choice if you are willing to spend a little more.
