What to Wear for Your Portrait Session | Bergen County Photographer
You finally got your act together, called your favorite photographer and scheduled that portrait session. Now it dawns on you: “What will we wear?”
Well, start by talking to your photographer. Photographers have experience and are able to help you based on the location of your session, background colors etc. I myself get asked this questions a lot. so here are a few tips:
Is your session indoor or outdoor? Urban or park setting? Studio or location? A white black shirt on a black background will not look good.
Think coordinating, not matching. Pick a color and have the whole family wear variations of their color in their outfits.
Think accessories. Earrings, ties, jewelry, scarves, etc.
Make sure your kids (and you!) are comfortable in whatever you are wearing.
Avoid logos and characters. You want your images to be timeless.
