When editing your photographs, you need accuracy. Not only the image on the screen should be sharp, but the level of brightness should be uniform and the colors on the screen need to be as close to reality as possible.
Here is what you need to consider when buying a monitor for editing your photographs:
Size: Size of the screen is very important. The 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio is standard. A 27 inches monitor with a 1440p or 32 inches at 4K monitor is ideal. Of course, you need to think about the space on your desk. Wider monitors take more space and will not help you much with focused work.
Resolution: You need at least 4k. The higher the resolution the better image quality. However, it can also be expensive.
Color Spaces: Look for displays that support color spaces like Adobe RGB (at least 70%) and sRGB (at least 90%).
There are a lot of very good monitor options out there. Although it seems daunting, paying attention to these three attributes will help you make the best decision for your budget and style.
