The Power of Photography | Bergen County Photographer

Have you ever done something that made you so happy that you wished that moment would last forever? Have you ever thought your kids were growing up so fast that you felt you didn’t have enough time to enjoy their special moments? Have you ever looked into a photograph that moved you? Photography is important because it allows us to capture moments. It allows us to turn those moments into memories, to tell a story.

Photography has the ability to freeze time. The look of a father when seeing his baby for the first time, a child swinging happily at the playground or the look on your face when you received that long-awaited promotion. These are all moments that happen very fast and will not come back. We capture them so we can relive those moments in a later date - through a photograph.

Photography also allows us to create memories. Memories that are forever cherished when we look through photographs. They also help us remember things we forgot, they evoke emotion and take us through a trip back into a time that is forever gone. Almost like a time machine, allowing us to remember our “firsts” - the first day of school, the first car and our “lasts” - the last day of summer, the last time we saw a friend.

Photographs also tell a story. Images of war, of devastation, of hunger. It is through them that we have a better understanding of the world around us. They also help you tell your personal story, images of your wedding day, of your baby who is now going to college. Through them you can recreate the story of your life.

Photographs are powerful. They have the capability of freezing time, creating memories and telling a story. It is through them that we relive our most special moments and remember those who are gone. We share stories and we bring out emotions. So, go get your camera – the one in your phone is good enough – and go create more memories.
