Ten Non Dancing Entertainment Ideas for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah Party | Bergen County Photographer

When you think about a traditional Bar or Bat Mitzvah party you think about circle dancing, lifting the family members on a chair and inviting a lot of extended family and friends. Sometimes, however, this is just not practical for a number of reasons. For example, your event may fall during Sefirat HaOmer (Counting of the Omer), the seven week period of semi-morning between Passover and Shavuot when we do not listen to live music or host parties among other things, or maybe you are just trying to do something different, something outside the box. So, below you will find a list of ten ideas of entertainment that do not involve the traditional music and dancing.

  1. Magician - a fun age-appropriate magic show may be just what you were looking for your next event. Some magicians are very captivating and will turn your child’s Simcha in a memorable event.

  2. Arcade - Take the kids to an Arcade place. Some places may even bring the arcade to you. Guaranteed fun!

  3. Paintball - Paintball is a fun and energetic way to celebrate your kid’s Simcha.

  4. Bowling - Just like kids birthday party, a bowling alley can be just the perfect place to celebrate your child’s Simcha.

  5. Game Tables - Gather a few games, prizes and table and let the kids have fun playing their favorites with their friends.

  6. Basketball Tournament - Why not divide the guests not teams and organize a basketball tournament? Let the best team win!

  7. Snow Tubing - A winter Simcha? No problem, just take everyone up the mountain for a fun filled snow tubing day.

  8. Trampoline Place - A trampoline place is also a great way to burn some energy and celebrate your child’s milestone.

  9. Painting Event - Gather all the kids to a memorable afternoon of painting. Each one get to paint their own canvas and take it home. Fun, relaxing, and entertaining.

  10. Chessed Project - Spend the day making thank you cards for soldiers or delivering food for the needy.

There are many other ways to celebrate such an important milestone. Let me know what other ideas you have!
